Man shot dead on nuclear submarine HMS Astute and another fighting for life | Mail Online

A horrific story out of the UK.

An officer was killed and another is fighting for his life after a shooting spree by a sailor on board the Royal Navy’s flagship nuclear submarine.

Police arrested an armed sentry after the incident today on the HMS Astute in Southampton docks as guards were changed over at midday.

The shooting occurred as local dignitaries, including the city’s mayor and council chief executive were touring the £1.2 billion boat, which had docked on Wednesday after 46 days at sea.

  1. I seriously doubt a Labour party member would have been so quick to stop the gunman.

As to the reasons given for the gunman snapping…. I have no experience in that regard, but seems to me a case of cabin fever should have been diagnosed by the ship’s medical officer. The toilet thing, though, is even flimsier as an excuse. But like I said, I have no experience with such things.
