Obama Flew Air Force One for 90-Mile Campaign Trip | The Blog on Obama: White House Dossier

President Obama Saturday commissioned Air Force One to travel to a campaign rally near Richmond, Virginia, a location only 90 miles away from the White House, highlighting the large expenses being borne by taxpayers as the president traverses the country to campaign and raise cash for a campaign that is failing to meet its fundraising goals.

The cost of flying Air Force One is currently about $180,000 per hour, according to ABC News. Only a portion of the cost is borne by the campaign.

I think someone in the 89th AW should call the DoD Fraud, Waste and Abuse Hotline.

The President’s limo is a Cadillac body on a One Ton GMC Suburban frame. Even with two Secret Service Suburbans to the front and another to the rear, you could fuel the trip for under $1000.00. ( 5 Suburbans @10 MPG X 200 miles= 200 gallons @ $4.00/gallon) The Secret Service would be the same cost whether he goes or stays home, so I would think even with the extra work involving liason with the VA State Police, by driving, he should have been able to getto the rally for under $5000.00.

But that would not work for King Barak, would it?
