Load HEAT- Joanne Froggatt

We’ll admit it. After two years, we finally broke down and watched the pilot episode of “Downton Abbey.” And we were promptly hooked. It’s like the crack cocaine of English Drama. And of course, while the ladies of British high society are lovely* some of the best performances come from downstairs.

British women are sexy. But they’re sexy in an entirely different way from American women. They… just are. Take a look at these pics of Joanne Froggatt and tell me you disagree.

She’s lovely and another reason I identify more with Mr. Bates than any of the aristocrats. I believe it starts airing in the UK on the 16th and comes to the US on January 6th.

have liked joanna since she was in the original uk life on mars as sam tyler’s mum in the 1970s. finding out she’s northern and the same age as me just reinforced this … one can dream!

Truly lovely woman. She can even act, unlike her American counterparts . . .

Too bad she will be draped in a burqa and banned from television soon enough.

Assuming they do not opt to stone her to death for . . . whatever comes to mind. Likely seducing the believers with her lacy white apron and being able to read, write and drive.

Shame that, as the [sadly once] Great Britons used to say.

  4. To pick a nit, in Britain it would be called “series three…” :)

Silly question time, Brad. Did you get the email with the links I sent? I got no confirmation, and fear it was eaten by spam filters.

I’ll have to send it from home (as it’s in my sent items there). I’ll resend tonight.

My sister-in-law got me hooked on the series and although a rather serious history buff never saw myself watching a drama set in those times. To call it “crack” is so appropos and now seeing the “apple of Mr. Bates eye” at leisure dress now gives extra emphasis to not miss next season…can’t wait.
