Bridging- then and… way back then

At the beginning of the year, I posted a quick post on pontoon bridges in use in the days just before World War II. As usual, when I find something obscure but interesting, it turns out Craig knows a heck of a lot more about it than I do.

His post on pontoon bridges for the Army of the Potomac in the Civil War is chock full of fascinating pictures. Go enjoy.

  1. I have some pictures in my fathers WWII photo collection of some of these bridges, also some real ones that had been blown up. Interesting thanks I will go check it out.

  2. Thank you for the link to Craig’s site. I am an amateur Civil war and WWII historian and I really enjoyed his post.

  3. Thank you sir, Sometimes the Muse strikes and my fingers actually follow direction.
