Never, ever fly on a foreign carrier. Especially not a Russian one. Red Wings Airlines crashed a Tu-204 airliner in a runway overrun today, killing four of the eight on board. And scaring the crap out of some drivers on the perimeter road:

I don’t plan to fly anything that isn’t flagged in the US and even some of those are a bit scary :)
Even Aeroflop has started flying Boeing equipment. S7 is the same, although that doesn’t mean they are trained to western standards. If you’re going to get anywhere in the old Soviet Union, you will find yourself on S7 or Aeroflop. I don’t kn ow of any others I’d be willing to fly. I’m not going to get on any old Sov airliners, and a number of them are still flying the minor lines.
I think the TU-204 is a relatively recent design, however. If it’s a pilot error, then I don’t care what you’re flying, your gonna prang it. But, still if it ain’t Boeing, I ain’t going.
Although, however, if I’m flying myself, I’d settle for a Socata TBM-850 or Extra 500.
