Think of the possibilities for Germany had Raeder built the 4 carriers and had them during the Battle Of The Atlantic before the US came in. I think it would have been a much different war.
Hitler, Goering, and Doenitz were shortsighted men.
Conversely, think if they’d never gone down the carrier route, and instead had surged production of U-boats before the war. Remember, the Kreigsmarine only had 57 oceangoing boats when the war started. What if they’d had 200?
